BUSINESS GROWTH AS A TREE.

Business growth as a Tree.

I have come to realize that anything you want to succeed, be it business or relationships, think of it as a tree.

I read a book (“Business Tree”) by Hank Moore where he thoughtfully analogizes the idea of growing a business as that of growing a tree and I couldn’t have asked for better explanation.

Let’s take business for example, how your company communicates and relates will determine if it will live on or die off. The nature of a tree is the best analogy for this.

First think of dependencies and inter-dependencies of a tree and try to relate it to interactions within your company with the understanding that businesses have complex systems just as nature.

In a tree, we have roots (symbolizes company’s main interest and the direction they want to move as a company), trunks (entire knowledge your company possess. We can relate this to the company services), branches (stands for each department within the business), twigs (your external suppliers or collaborators) and leaves (are the powerhouse in a company, the employees).

Another thing you should also know in business is the concept of weeding and pruning in the garden. They are excellent ways to maintain a garden. A weed can compete with your plants for nutrients. So once weed is sighted uproot the entire plants. On the other hand, trim all the dead and unhealthy plants, that way your plants can focus on new growth and thrive. In business, remove any distraction that hinders the growth of your business so you can focus on strategic plan that ensures that your business tree achieves healthy and steady growth.

How you connect similar, yet very different ideas help you in understanding complicated topics in your business. If you continue to neglect your business, it will never reach its potential and will eventually die off.

Our company has continued to leverage on these ideas and will continue to strategize so that our vision and mission as a business is accomplished.

Wishing you all a bright week ahead.
